Application Arrangements for MTR Student Travel Scheme 2023/2024
To bring students with further convenience in applying for the MTR Student Travel Scheme, the MTR’s online application platform will be open for application on 15 August 2023. Eligible students may complete the application process with a mobile phone or through MTR website and need not to queue up for the endorsement by the University and at the station.

Important remark:
From 2022/23 and onwards, purchase of the temporary Octopus Card will not be provided before application approval. To enjoy the concessionary fares, students are advised to submit their application as soon as the online application platform is open. For students who are holding an approved Personalized Octopus with “Student Status”, the concession will expire no earlier than 31 October as usual.
Application period
The online application for MTR Student Travel Scheme 2023/2024 is open all year round starting from 15 August 2023. Students who are currently away from Hong Kong may apply for the scheme after arrival in Hong Kong.
Eligibility

Registered full-time students aged below 26.

Students who are on leave and not paying tuition fee will not be eligible for the scheme until they resume their study or their registered student status is updated.

“Full-time day course” refers to a day-time course, which normally requires students to attend a recognized local institution for not fewer than 20 hours of academic instruction each week for 30 weeks or more in an academic year.
