Ever Closer Union Exhibition

The Legacy of the Treaties of Rome for Today's Europe

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome (1957) the Historical Archives of the European Union is organising a travelling exhibition based on archival documents and images. The purpose of the exhibition is to trace the history of European integration from the signing of the Treaties of Rome to the challenges now facing Europe. The exhibition is composed of 14 panels reproducing documents and pictures, with educational captions structured in 4 thematic sections:

I. Historical Overview

II. Economic Europe

III. Social Dimension and European Citizenship

IV. Europe in the World

Europe: Future Challenges
The closing panel of the exhibition focuses on contemporary challenges being faced by the EU, from the issue of migration on to that of internal cohesion. How will the EU cope with these challenges and work towards an ever closer union?

The opening ceremony of exhibition will be held on 29 Sep (Fri) at Tsang Shiu Tim Art Hall. The event will give an/a
