Grants and Awards are available for students who are less financially privileged so that they could participate in community engagement and leadership learning opportunities regardless of their financial burdens.

Mrs Choi Ma Oi Kuen Public Service Leadership Program (PSLP) Award

With the generous support from Mrs Choi Ma Oi Kuen, students who are under financial constraints and aspire to become public service leaders are encouraged to apply for PSLP Award. For details, please click here.

Eligibility: Award:
For continuing local undergraduate students who will be on campus throughout the given academic year Four awards of HKD25,000 each will be granted in each academic year

Students who have financial need and have successfully applied for Government Grant or Loan or University Financial Assistance*

Requirement: Application and deadline:
Participation in the yearlong Public Service Leadership Program of a minimum of 240 hours in the given academic year (including but not limited to training, initiating a local service project, and serving as an intern in NGO Download application form here and submit the completed and signed application form to HKUST Connect office at Room 5016 (Lift 3) on or before 5:30pm, 22 September 2016 (Thu)

*For students who have not applied / do not apply for any financial assistance, their applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.


Li Ka Shing Students’ Holistic Development Scheme
The Li Ka Shing Students’ Holistic Development Scheme is available to encourage students to engage in co-curricular programs endorsed by the Student Affairs Office. The Scheme provides an allowance of HK$2,500 - $10,000 to motivated students participating in the endorsed co-curricular programs, focused on personal growth, leadership development, and service learning. 
The endorsed co-curricular programa are:

  1. Organizing Committee of Service Learning Trips

Application for the Scheme is open to all students participating in the endorsed programs and those with financial need will be given additional consideration.
Application deadline: The same date of the respective co-curricular program you intend to join or stipulated by the co-curricular program you have joined.
Application method: Download and return the completed application form IN PERSON on or before the deadline.


Connect Overseas Service Learning Grant

Students participating in service learning trips can learn about a place, its culture and its people through hands-on community-based service projects. Connect Overseas Service Learning Grant aims to support students with financial need to participate in service learning trips organized by HKUST Connect. Successful candidates will receive a subsidy covering up to 80% of the program fee.

Students who are passionate in community engagement but lacking of resources may apply for Connect Overseas Service Learning Grant.
